The Mountain Log Cabin

Whether it is a romantic getaway, a fishing jaunt, a family vacation, or a winter retreat, this log cabin with hot tub under the stars on the Massanutten Mountain foothills is a short hike down to the George Washington National Forest with a lake and the Shenandoah River. Just less than a quarter mile away is a stocked pond also available for canoeing.

Sleeping up to seven, this two-bedroom, air-conditioned rustic cabin has a cozy gas fireplace, completely furnished kitchen (dishwasher, stove, fridge, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker), bath with tub/shower. The log cabin has premium movie and sports channels on Direct TV Satellite, VCR/ DVD (bring tapes/DVDs or rent some in town) ; radio/CD player. Linens for up to two beds and firewood for the outdoor fire by the hot tub are provided with your rental. A pet is welcome for a small additional fee.
For our guests, we provide a canoe and up to four tubes on our private riverfront based on availability and river conditions April through October. This is a nonsmoking cabin; we ask guests to smoke on the porch or patio.

The cabin has an outdoor hot tub, volleyball/badminton, some videos, board games,
horse shoes, outside fire pit, and outside grill (bring your charcoal).

Located off a small access lane above the George Washington National Forest, the cabin is a half mile hike or drive to public access on the south fork of the Shenandoah River, about 3/4 mile from The Country Place Camp and its private riverfront for your use as well when available. You can launch canoes and kayaks from both places.

We offer a partnership package with the Luray Caverns, massage therapy and the five star Victorian Inn Restaurant in Luray. We have private trails leading to logging trails in the National Forest for riding and hiking. The cabin is available year-round.
Two-night minimum stay requested;
Three-night minimum stay on holiday weekends; four nights on Thanksgiving.

The Mountain Log Cabin is available year-round. See the Misty River Retreat (three bedrooms), Aerie Hideaway (two bedrooms), the Sanctuary Tree House, and Captain's Rapids Lodge (3 to 6 bedrooms, game room on 15 acres on the river).
