Plan your family reunion, gathering of friends, or group camp. Scouts and clubs love us! All you need to do is rent our site and enjoy our free advice designed for team-building, planning, and group fun.

The Country Place has five 8' x 10' and two 10’ x 12’ wall tents on wooden platforms set in a private wooded site of 35 acres in the midst of the George Washington National Forest, with a private beach on the Shenandoah River. Tents can sleep a total 40 in bunk beds. The camp has a screened kitchen with two refrigerators, a grill, a stove with oven and an outdoor charcoal grill along with the dining room with seating room for 30. Outside picnic tables accommodate 20 more. Adjacent are private toilet and shower facilities. Campers bring flashlight, single bed linens or sleeping bags, river shoes, suntan and insect lotions, a hat and groceries, leaving their cares behind.

 

Campers may also bring tents or small trailers. There are no hookups available. Fishing is at our river front and two stocked lakes in the forest, accessible by car or a short hike. Nearby are Skyline Drive, Luray Caverns, Lake Arrowhead, horse rental, civil war sites, and the quaint town of Luray all in beautiful Page County.

The Country Place Camp welcomes all size groups. Two-night minimum requested. Camp firewood included. Rates – Base Camp Fees for one night without state and county tax, firewood included: Entire Base Camp with tents, kitchen: $388 for up to 24; $15 for each additional person. Rates: Riverfront Camp Bring your tents and group to the riverfront camp: $188 for up to 10; $15 per night for additional campers. Children less than six years free when accompanied by parents. For Riverfront camp, check out our Sanctuary Tree House where you can include a small group of friends, complete with canoe during your stay (weather/river conditions permitting) $40 night per tent, two people, additional person $15 Midweek multi-night discount available

Special! 2009 Five-Night Riverfront Camp Sunday through Friday departure One tent, includes up to two people $150 Second tent, up to two people $125 Each additional person in tents, $50 Children twelve and under free with parents. Canoe use included. Ask about adding a canoe/tubes during your stay.

Also available are the Mountain Log Cabin, Tree House, Misty River Retreat, Captain's Rapids Lodge, and Aerie Mountain Hideaway Cabin (read note below regarding requirements):
Note: Advance deposit is required for reservations. Full payment required before arrival. For deposit to be returned, cancellations must be made at least two weeks prior to scheduled visit, three weeks June through October.

Our camp is primitive and our campers enjoy:
1. having either or both the base camp with kitchen/hot showers/flush toilets and the river front sites (with Portapotty facilities, no water or electricity) exclusively for their group;
2. Being in the midst of the surrounding National Forest with private beach front;
3. renting canoes, kayaks, tubes and even rafts at the adjacent Shenandoah River Outfitters.

This camp is rustic and wildlife and insects are all part of camping in the woods. We do not offer modern, enclosed camping facilities. All camping, water, and wilderness activities can be dangerous and require adult supervision and safe practices at all times and are done at your own risk. As a guest, you accept all responsibility for your group's safety.

The kids can play and cool off in the river right beside your campsite!
